The success and timing of a female being in whelp is dependent on Mother Nature. In most cases, litters are
planned, bred, carried and delivered without any unexpected circumstances, however not all females come in
season on a regular schedule, conceive each time, or carry a litter to term. Please keep this in mind when you
are considering a puppy from LMGS. We will post all information on our site as litters are planned and arrive!
Who picks the Puppy? The answer is "we do". It is our goal to get the right puppy with the right family. We are
experienced in what we do, and we assess the litter/s as they grow and develop daily. This allows us to be able
to know each puppy individually and as a pack, which allows us to help you purchase the right puppy for your
family.
We will only sell a puppy to you that we feel will have the best potential with training and socializing, to meet your
expectations as you have expressed to us in our questionniare, be that, obedience, agility, flyball, tracking, SchH
training, herding, search and rescue, or family pet. All of our litters will consist of good family pets, our program is
focused on the family dog, however we must do more screening, for those people looking to partake is specific
training with their dogs.
We will always take into "consideration", a puppy you and your family may think looks pretty darn cute in our
pictures we post once collars are put on for identification, however this does not always turn out to be the puppy
you get.
What is the price of the pup/dog?:
The price of our pups may vary depending on the breeding, litter, and sometimes the time of year.
Our pups sold as pets, will be sold with a CKC limited registration, (non breeding agreement)
Our pups sold as breeding dogs, will be sold on an open contract, at an extra cost.
If we have an adult dog for sale, price will depend on a number of things, whether up for retirement or sale.
Please contact us to ask the price of a particular litter/pup/adult that you see listed under the For Sale tab.
When do we accept deposits on a puppy? You may place a deposit at anytime, "AFTER" you have
completed our Questionnaire and we feel we will have a puppy who will have the potential to meet your
expectations through training and socialization. We recommend that you have made a commitment to Last
Mountain German Shepherds prior to sending in your deposit, in case we have to roll you over to another litter,
should this become necessary, which would change the parents of your pup, and the date that you will get your
new puppy. Deposits are non refundable and are in the amount of $200.00 to hold a puppy for you. This shows
us your commitment to a puppy, and puts you on the list and is applied to the purchase price.
What is included in the purchase price of the pup? The cost of your puppy includes a 2 Year Written Health
Contract, (READ HERE) continuous breeder support. Our puppies receive the best of care, are born in our
whelping area in our home or in our new whelping facility, equiped with camera's and all the comforts a mom dog
could need during whelping and nurturing, and are socialized to what is available to us here on the acreage, in
both indoor and outdoor surroundings.
During week 7 our vet comes to the kennels, to examine each puppy. We feel this is much safer than taking the
litter to the clinic, to avoid any possible canine diseases being picked up.
Our Vet checks each puppy over, she looks at their eyes, ears, teeth, bite, for any obvious problems, she listens
to their hearts, and gently moves each joint looking for any noticeable concerns. They are then given a
deworming pill, which is standard at this age, and they are given their first vaccination referred to as DA2PP,
which means that the pup has started a series of shots against, Distemper/Parainfluenza Adenovirus and Parvo.
We send home a small package of puppy food to get you started, and/or to help change your puppy over to a
food you have chose to feed. You will have access to our Puppy Handbook containing a lot of information to help
you get started with your new Puppy based on our experience raising and training pups and dogs over the years,
that give you tips and idea's on crate training, house training, feeding properly, how to find a good obedience
club, and also a bit on vaccinations. We also include a short section on Hip and Elbow Dysplasia and how to help
you not contribute to it from the environmental misunderstandings. We also want our clients to read this very
interesting and education article on Hip Dysplasia and Feeding your puppy. Read this document HERE.
Extra Costs:
If you are flying your puppy to your location, we charge a deliver fee to the airport which "includes" the price of a crate for an
8 week old puppy. Delivery to the Regina Airport is currently: $150.00.
If we are to hold your puppy past 9 weeks of age, we charge a boarding fee of $10.00 a day.
If we have to hold your puppy for you and this incures any vet costs for any reason, including second shots, this cost is
passed onto you as well as travel cost to/from vet.
The cost of the flight itself is your responsibility.
Methods of payment:
Cash, certified cheque or money gram.

ONCE PURCHASE IS MADE, WE PREFER OUR PUPS TO BE IN THEIR NEW HOMES AS SOON AS VET CHECKS ARE COMPLETED
AND WE FEEL THEY ARE READY TO JOIN THEIR NEW HOMES. THIS IS TYPICALLY BETWEEN 7.5 AND 8 WEEKS OF AGE.
HOW DO WE PROCEED WITH PURCHASING A PUPPY FROM LMGS?
Step One: to purchasing an LMGS puppy is filling out our questionnaire that will help us learn a bit about you and
your experience with dogs, and your expectations of your new pup/dog. Its not complicated, just meant to help
us help you. We ask you to fill it out electronically, and forward it to us in an email for our review. It can be found
on our documents page or CLICK HERE.
Once we receive your completed questionnaire, and we feel we can help you find the right puppy for your needs
from one of our upcoming litters we will contact you and then step two is required.
Step Two: We would require a non-refundable deposit in the amount of $200.00 to hold your puppy for you.
REMEMBER: you must be committed to LMGS as your breeder as there is always a chance of not enough pups
in a litter or the right sex, which would require you to be rolled over to the next litter.
Its up to you when you decide to send this in, HOWEVER, keep in mind those whose deposits have been sent
in, will have their expectations as shared in our questionnaire considered while we evaluate the litter. If you have
not sent in a deposit, your expectations as indicated on our questionnaire will not be considered until we receive
a deposit from you.
Step Three: Once the litter is born, and Vet Checks are completed, we will inform you which puppy you will be
getting. We DO NOT let people know prior to vet checks which puppy with be theirs, to avoid any broken hearts
should that puppy have a problem or have to stay with us longer for any reason. Again as explained above you
can share your interest in a particular puppy if you would like, based on the pictures we post. However this will not
necessarily be the puppy you will get.
This is when you will be informed about the pickup dates and times that will be available to you and you will be
required to choose one of those offered. These dates are booked, as people email me back so if you have a
specific date/time, know this in advance so you can best have a chance to book it. We will do our best to
accomadate but can only physically fit in a certain amount of pickups a day. Aside from everyday chores, each
puppy is bathed, dried, nails trimmed, ears cleaned prior to pickup and this takes time.
Step Four: Once you know your pickup date and time, you should get your supplies you will need for your new
puppy purchased and organized. We have a list of things you will need for when you come to pick up your puppy.
You can find that HERE.
Step Five: Make arrangements for a sitter for the kids, or someone to come along with you to supervise your
kids while the business is conducted. If you bring your kids along we do require the kids to be respectful of the
dogs and other animals on the property, and remain under supervision at all times.
Step Six: Arrive at the Kennels at the prearranged time for the pick up of your new puppy with all the items listed
to make your trip home the least stressful it can be. Puppy will be a bit nervous about the first car ride, and the
new family but they quickly adapt once home. Balance owing is due at this time. See method of payments.
IF YOUR SHIPPING THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS WILL NEED TO BE IN ORDER.
If you are shipping your puppy, we require full payment to be made before we will put the puppy on the airplane.
NO EXCEPTIONS. Money grams are an instant form of pay, and are recommended should you be running short
on time.
We are required to know the time of the flight in Saskatchewan time, which is Central Standard Time so we can
have the pup to the airport on time.
We are required to know the route in which your puppy will be flying from Regina to your location so we know if
food/water is required to be sent along.
We need to know the name of who will be picking the pup at the airport to put on the paperwork and that person
may be required to have ID on them before the airlines will release the puppy to you.
Your puppy must be minimum 8 weeks of age in order to fly.
This is all very important information so we make certain your puppy gets to you safely with the least amount of
confusion.
Shipping can be arranged within Canada with West jet Cargo anywhere from approximately $150.00-$250.00
Air Canada is also an option. We suggest you call the airline of your choice, set up the flight and we will happily
have your puppy to the airport at whatever time, day or night that is convenient for you.
BE SURE TO CHECK WITH THE AIRLINE AS TIME CHANGES AND WINTER CONDITIONS CAN MAKE
TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS MORE DIFFICULT TO SOME DESTINATIONS.
PLEASE ADD GST TO PRICES.
