Welcome to the purchase information area of our site. This area is here to answer your questions in regards to how to go about purchasing a pup/dog from Last Mountain German Shepherds. If you do not find the answer to your question here, please feel free to contact us, let us know what information you are needing and we will happily reply to your email. You will be required to fill out a short questionnaire that will help us learn a bit about you and your experience with dogs, and your expectations of your new pup/dog. Its not complicated, just meant to help us help you. Our pups sold as pets, will be sold with a CKC limited registration, (non breeding agreement) Our pups sold as breeding dogs, will be sold on an open contract, at an extra cost. (see below) ALL puppies will have a complete vet checkup as well. The veterinarian checks eyes, ears, teeth, correct bite, hearts, each joint is moved looking for any obvious problems, the pups are given a standard de-worming pill and first vaccination referred to as DA2PP. They will have a tattoo put into their right ear, for identification as well we offer lifetime breeder support. Our pups are typically ready for their new homes during week 7 in age, however this can vary from litter to litter, some are not ready until 8 weeks of age this decision will be made with the best interest of our pups in mind. We get asked if our clients can choose their puppy from the litter. It is our goal to make certain the right puppy is placed with the right family. We spend quality time with the pups right from birth, and evaluate their personalities, temperaments, and prey/play drive etc from day one. Once you fill out our questionnaire and providing you have given us useful information about your expectations of your new pup/dog, we feel we can best guide you towards, which pup will fit into your family and your activities. We require a $100.00 non-refundable deposit to hold your puppy/dog for you. This is a sign of your commitment to purchasing a puppy from us, and this does go towards the purchase price of your puppy/dog. We are asked: When should a deposit be sent in? If you have chosen Last Mountain German Shepherds as your breeder we will accept a deposit at anytime. What this means is you are committed to a puppy from us, even if we have to switch you to another litter should there not be enough pups, or your gender of choice or an overall match for you. We offer a 2 year Purchase Contract/Health Agreement and will happily send this too you should you wish to review it in its entirety. All of our breeding dogs are x-rayed to see if there are any signs of dysplasia prior to considering them a part of our breeding program, they are then continually evaluated as they grow, for proper structure, movement, trainability and most of all temperament. If we feel all of these positive essential elements are present, they will be used in our program, females no earlier than 18 months of age, and this depends solely on the individual dogs, if they are not mentally or physically prepared to raise a litter of pups, we will not breed them until we feel they are. German Shepherds -German Shepherd Breeders- German Shepherd Puppies |
The cost of your puppy includes a 2 Year Written Health Contract, continuous breeder support if asked. Our puppies receive the best of care, are born in our whelping area in our home, are socialized to indoor and outdoor surroundings. At 6 weeks our vet comes to the kennels, as this is much safer than taking the litter to the clinic, to avoid any possible canine diseases. Our Vet checks each puppy over, she looks at their eyes, ears, teeth, bite, for any obvious problems, she listens to their hearts, and gently moves each joint looking for any noticeable problems. She thoroughly goes over their entire little bodies for any lumps or bumps. They are then given a deworming pill, which is standard at this age, and they are given their first vaccination referred to as DA2PP, which means that the pup has started a series of shots against, Distemper/Parainfluenza Adenovirus and Parvo. We keep our puppies for 1-2 weeks after this vaccination to make sure there are no reactions to the vaccination. We send home a package of puppy food to help you get off on the right foot adjusting the puppy to his new food. We also will send you via email, or print off a copy of a book that I have put together, based on our experience raising and training pups and dogs, over the years, that give you tips and idea's on Crate training, House Training, Feeding properly, how to find a good Obedience Club, and also a bit on Vaccinations. We also include a short section on Hip and Elbow Dysplasia and how to help you not contribute to it from the environmental misunderstandings. Our goal is to help you get the best start possible with your new puppy! |
